Devon Open Studios 2026

I have the pleasure of welcoming you to my home and working space for Devon Open Studios between 12 to 20 Sept 2026. There will be work for sale if you so wish. Please join me and spread the news.

Details in the online brochure (scan QR code).

This year I have been concentrating on creating cyanotypes, often in collaboration with friends, inspired by and sometime created on the beach, with the backdrop of the glorious ocean. You will find original cyanotypes on paper, fabrics and even on porcelain, featuring seaweeds collected during my swims in the sea. There will be a lot of blue!

The fluidity of fabrics works particularly well with the watery imagery. and including shadowy bodily forms seems particularly relevant: we are part of the natural world and should take care for it, and celebrate it.

I will also be featuring many of the ceramics I have created over the last few years, including bowls and sculptural work in stoneware and porcelain, both thrown and hand-built. There will be raku fired pieces, colourful barrel-fired work and precious pieces from an exciting anagama kiln firing at Kigbeare, N. Devon last summer. There will be much to discover.

I plan to demonstrate the basic technique of cyanotype on paper each day of Open Studios at 12 noon. I hope the sun shines!
